Being a dog photographer brings home that saying, “It’s like herding cats.” Except this task is all about the daunting task of getting the perfect photo of a beloved dog, especially when it comes to capturing his or her special personality.
Barbara Breitsameter has found a way to express her creativity and passion by catching that perfect look from her furry friends. And the intriguing backstory is that she feels very strongly about watching for signs in life that may lead you in a different direction. That’s exactly what she did when she picked up photography again, after living with Parkinson’s. She discovered that her tremors cease in the brief second when she reaches with her camera. This Ah-ha moment elated her and led her back to her passion.
To help others capture that perfect photo, she wrote a book called Paws for Parkinson’s Inspiration Guide for Pet Photographers. All proceeds benefit Parkinsons Research
Barbara’s story is a story of hope and embracing life with purpose. If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If life gives you Parkinsons, make exceptional portraits of treasured canine companions.
