Cancer patients: “You’ve got mail!” Letters of hope from people who care

Cancer patients: “You’ve got mail!” Letters of hope from people who care

If you are a breast cancer patient – or even if you are not – you’ll appreciate Girls Love Mail.  This Folsom, California, non-profit is committed to supporting sisters with breast cancer through words of hope and inspiration from total strangers….loving, caring, supportive total strangers. Founder Gina Mulligan started Girls Love Mail after being diagnosed with breast cancer out of the blue. Along her breast cancer road to wellness, she discovered that notes of inspiration made all the difference and helped her understand she wasn’t alone.  So now Girls Love Mail gathers hand-written letters of inspiration and hope that buoy breast cancer patients, to the tune of 2,000 letters a month sent to cancer centers around the country. Writes one, “Your family, friends and doctors are pulling for you and focused on a positive outcome.”  And so are the friends you haven’t meet yet at Girls Love Mail.
